Occupational therapy provided by Sierra Rehab & Wellness Center assists individuals whose abilities to cope with daily tasks have been impaired by physical illness or injury, the aging process or psychosocial disabilities. Occupational therapy restores the capacity of these individuals to function with daily activities.

Therapists work with patients to restore the individual's capacity to function with daily activities including grooming, dressing, bathing, homemaking skills and vocational skills. Techniques commonly include therapeutic exercise, sensorimotor therapy, functional activities, various modalities and patient/caregiver education.

Occupational therapy can benefit both children and adults, including those with restricted joint movement, muscle weakness, upper extremity dysfunction, fine motor coordination difficulty, pain and psychological problems.
